Cancellation conditions

Cancellation policy 2024-01

1 Regular cancellation
 1.1 Cancellation must be communicated in writing or by email to info@guesthouse-moncarapacho.com

1.2 The following costs are associated with a cancellation:

  • In case of cancellation up to the 90th day before arrival: 25% of the rental price;
  • In case of cancellation from the 90th day to the 60th day before arrival: 50% of the rental price;
  • In case of cancellation from the 60th day to the 31st day before arrival: 75% of the rental price;
  • In case of cancellation from the 31st day to 1 day before Arrival: 90% of the rental price;
  • In case of cancellation on the day of arrival or later: 100% of the rental price.

2 Additional cancellation conditions in connection with Covid-19
 2.1 Based on a doctor's note, a reservation can be converted into a rental credit, provided that conditions 2.1.1., 2.1.2 and 2.1.3 are met.

2.1.1 There is a negative government travel advice in the tenant's home country for the Algarve region and/or travel from the tenant's home country is not permitted due to Portuguese regulations.

2.1.2 A new reservation will take place within two months after cancellation or later as agreed in consultation and confirmed in writing by the landlord.

2.1.3 The new reservation will take place for a period within two years after cancellation.

2.2 A cancellation that does not comply with 2.1.1 to 2.1.3 is considered a regular cancellation.

3 Cancellation by Guesthouse-Moncarapacho
 3.1 In the event of force majeure, both permanent and temporary, Guesthouse-Moncarapacho is entitled to dissolve or temporarily suspend the agreement in whole or in part without the guest being able to claim performance and/or compensation:

3.2 Force majeure includes, but is not limited to: danger of war, war, rebellion, molestation, strikes, boycott, disruptions in the energy circuit, traffic or transport, government measures, scarcity of raw materials, natural disasters and furthermore all extraordinary weather conditions.

3.3 Death of one of the owners or close family members, etc., as a result of which full or partial compliance with the agreement cannot reasonably and fairly be expected from Guesthouse-Moncarapacho. This also applies in the event of cessation of business and/or sale of the property.

4 Change
 4.1 A guest can change a booking up to 30 days before arrival.
4.2 The booking may not be cheaper than the original booking after changes.
4.3 A change fee of 20.00 euros will be charged for changes.

5 Replacement
 5.1 If the reservation is completely transferred to a third party, the booker must notify Guesthouse-Moncarapacho of this in writing.
5.2 Change costs of EUR 20.00 will be charged for these changes.
5.3 Amounts already paid will be deemed to have been paid by the acquiring party. The transferring and acquiring parties must arrange this mutually.
