Islet of Culatra and Farol

Our plot is located in the Ria de Formosa nature reserve. It's somewhat reminiscent of the Wadden Sea in the Netherlands. To reach the Atlantic Ocean, with its many offshore islands, you have to cross the mudflats. You can reach the islands of Culatra and Farol by ferry or water taxi from Olhão.

Once you arrive at Culatra, it's worth taking a stroll along the beach to the Farol lighthouse. It's a cozy and trendy beach bar with a view of the Atlantic Ocean and delicious snacks!

You can board the ferry again in Farol. Just be sure to check the sailing times!
