The marina and seaside resort of Vilamoura

The seaside resort Vilamoura is a half‑hour drive from our Boutique Hotel Guesthouse‑Moncarapacho. It is a deliberately developed recreational area with a marina built by a wealthy banker from Lisbon. Vilamoura is surrounded by beautiful beaches and golf courses.

These “splendor and pomp” and “see and be seen” we do not know in the east Algarve. Our Guesthouse lies in the middle of a nature area and in the outskirts with simple farm villages. 

But how nice it is to visit the luxurious Vilamoura once, to have a drink at the harbor, to lunch and to visit the many small shops.

You’ll be amazed! Moreover, you don’t need to speak Portuguese; the primary language is roughly English.

I find that so enjoyable in the Algarve now. In a short time, you find yourself in a completely different world and then quickly feel at home again!
