Our immediate environment
Our future Boutique Guesthouse-Moncarapacho will consist of a private home, two luxury rental holiday homes, swimming pool and jeu de boules court, and is located just outside our village of Moncarapacho, in the east of the Algarve, Portugal. It is located 25 kilometers from Faro airport, 50 km from the Spanish border. Two hours drive to Seville in Spain and 3 hours to Lisbon!
The typical Portuguese environment such as the orange and olive trees, the markets, the old villages and of course the sea less than 10 kilometers away, complete the holiday feeling.
The various islands off the coast have beautiful beaches and can be reached by taxi boats. Walking, birdwatching, golfing, mountain biking, surfing, paddle boarding, boating, swimming, a range of activities to do. Relaxing by the pool or on your own terrace is also wonderful!
Location of Boutique Guesthouse-Moncarapacho
It is located on a rustic spot on a dirt road - just outside our village of Moncarapacho - with a view of the Atlantic Ocean and the fishing village of Fuseta, the "Ria Formosa" nature reserve and our neighbors' olive grove. We have a close-knit neighborhood with people from all kinds of countries such as England, France, Germany.

Due to its central location in the Eastern Algarve, our future Boutique Guesthouse is the ideal base. such as visits to the various golf courses or trips to the hills in the hinterland, authentic villages, historic cities, natural parks, the sea.
Walking, birdwatching, golfing, mountain biking, surfing, paddle boarding, boating, swimming, a range of activities to do. In the hinterland there are hills, picturesque villages and a large number of hiking trails.
The typical Portuguese environment such as the orange and olive trees, the markets, the old villages and the sea less than 10 kilometers away, complete the holiday feeling. The supermarket for delicious sandwiches and basic necessities is one kilometer away.
Beautiful cities and nice villages
The villages of Fuseta, Olhao and Tavira are located directly on the sea and we can be found almost every week. Each village has its own charm, atmosphere and range of restaurants and shops. What they have in common is that fresh vegetables, fruit and fish are sold every day in the covered market halls.
Markets
Every week on Sunday morning there is a large (gypsy) market in one of the villages. In Moncarapacho it is on the first Sunday of the month. Here you can of course get vegetables, fruit, plants, clothing and honey from the area. But for us and for many Portuguese it is also a place to drink coffee, eat chicken and meet many acquaintances!
Food and drink
Restaurants can be found everywhere, from a delicious daily special to a refined menu. Of course, many fish restaurants, but also vegan/vegetarian dishes, sushi, Italian, Chinese, Indian food.

Beaches in the area
The various islands off the coast have beautiful beaches on the Atlantic Ocean and can be reached by taxi boats or a ferry. The most important islands in the immediate vicinity are Ilha de Fuseta, Ilha Armona and Farol-Culatra, Ilha de Tavira, Ilha de Faro.
In the fishing village of Fuseta there is an indoor beach with sunbeds and parasols and an excellent restaurant Aqua Borda. This beach is wheelchair accessible and very suitable for families with small children.
Ria Formosa nature reserve
When you think of the Algarve, you have an image of sun, sea and beach. But there's more! In the eastern part of the Algarve, between Faro and Tavira, there is a 60 kilometer long belt of islands and peninsulas with a lagoon behind them.
Our village of Moncarapacho is located near this protected nature reserve Ria Formosa. From our plot we look out over the fishing village of Fuseta, the Atlantic Ocean and this unique lagoon.
Seahorses, dolphins, flamingos, chameleons and migratory birds can be spotted in the sunny Algarve. This entire Ria Formosa nature reserve also consists of sandbanks, salt pans, swamps, white beaches and dunes with plants and animals. You can actually compare it with our Wadden area.
Golf courses
There are beautiful golf courses in the immediate vicinity. The nearest golf course Benamor Golf is in Tavira, about 20 kilometers from Moncarapacho.
