The historic town of Tavira

This beautiful town is less than a 17-minute drive from our plot and about 20 kilometers from the Spanish border.

Due to its location along the Gilão River, Tavira is also called the Venice of the Algarve.

The beautiful Ponte Romana bridge, which connects the two parts of Tavira, can be seen in almost every photo.

Of course, like in every town and village in the area, there is a large market hall where the freshly caught fish is sold. There are also nice boutiques and restaurants in the cozy streets of Tavira.

With the ferry you can sail to the nearby island Ilha de Tavira. It is precisely the mix of culture and a beautiful beach that makes many tourists visit Tavira.
