Did you know that the Algarve, in southern Portugal, has the highest number of sunshine hours in winter?

We ourselves have beautiful memories of overwintering here in the Algarve. Breakfasting in the sun around 10 o'clock and going back inside around half past four when the sun sets. Then it really gets colder and it's more comfortable inside.

We also like to have lunch outside in the sunshine on the terrace in Olhao or in our own little village Moncarapacho. A thick jacket is definitely not necessary, but lots of layers!

Many winter visitors enjoy the delightful temperature at this time of year, which is why there is always a cozy bustle in the restaurants and shops.

As a winter resident, you can participate in various activities in the immediate area. Think of yoga, golf, painting courses, Portuguese lessons, gym, walking trips and also enjoy a massage, beauty treatment!
