Did you know that the Algarve, in southern Portugal, has the highest number of sunshine hours in winter?

We have beautiful memories of spending the winter here in the Algarve. We have breakfast in the sun around 10 o’clock and return inside by half‑past four when the sun goes down. Then it really gets colder and it’s more comfortable inside.

We also love to lunch outside in the sunshine on the terrace in Olhao or in our own village Moncarapacho. A thick coat isn’t really needed, but plenty of layers are!

A lot of winterers enjoy the pleasant temperature during this time of year, so there’s always a lively buzz in restaurants and shops.

As a winterer, you can participate in various activities in the surrounding area. These include yoga, golf, painting classes, Portuguese lessons, gym, hiking trips and also enjoying massages and beauty treatments!

If you want to winter at our Guesthouse in the East Algarve, you can do so from November to March. With a winter rate you stay in a beautiful holiday home with underfloor heating and a wood stove. Luxury and comfort like home! And less than 8 kilometres from the beach 😎
