When we want to show our friends around here, Barril Beach has become a permanent fixture, about a fifteen minute drive from us.

Our Guesthouse-Moncarapacho overlooks the nature reserve Ria Formosa . A kind of Wadden area of 60 kilometers long!

Almost all the wide and beautiful beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, here in the Eastern Algarve, can be reached by ferry/fast water taxi or via a bridge.

To the Beach of Barril you first cross a small bridge and then take a train or walk. At the end of the beautiful route is a beautiful, wide and quiet beach, a few restaurants, shops and in the dunes an anchor cemetery and of course the Atlantic Ocean.
