The authentic Portuguese cottage Casa Pauline is a delightful comfortable and luxurious self-catered holiday home with two bedrooms and a shared swimming pool in a tropical garden with sea views in the Algarve, in Portugal. Also bookable for overwintering.
What does Casa Pauline offer?
The luxurious and homely suite has been renovated in Portuguese style with the well-known authentic Portuguese details. Designed by ConceptX Interiors and furnished with beautiful paintings by Chantal van Leeuwen.
Suitable for a maximum of two guests, young and old, and also suitable for a small family.
With its high wooden ceilings and numerous windows, the holiday home appears light and spacious. It offers views of the sea, the private Mediterranean garden and the neighbouring olive grove to the south.
Air conditioning and underfloor cooling in the summer and comfortable underfloor heating and a cozy wood stove in the winter. The original handmade Portuguese Santa Catarina floor tiles are laid on the floor.
From the cosy living room you have access to the largest bedroom, the bathroom and the second small bedroom.
Kitchen
This is equipped with an oven, induction hob, extractor hood, small dishwasher for two people, wine cooler, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, kitchen linen, crockery, cutlery and a separate large fridge. And of course all the necessities to be able to cook.
Bathroom
The bathroom includes a vanity unit with a washbasin. The floor is laid with Portuguese tiles, handcrafted by an 83-year-old local artisan. Of course, it also features modern underfloor heating for the winter! A rain shower with a handheld showerhead, vanity unit, and toilet complete the bathroom.
Living room
Here you will find two comfortable armchairs, a three-seater velour sofa, a coffee table with marble and glass, and a modern carpet. You can eat at the wooden dining table with four compact handmade dining chairs in a linen look. And don't forget the cozy wood stove, the firewood is already ready.
Large bedroom
This room features a handcrafted luxury box spring with a quilted headboard and a 21 cm high hotel-quality medium-firm mattress (180 cm x 200 cm) with a topper. There is also a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, air conditioning, and French doors leading to your own spacious garden. Bathrobes and bath towels are provided for your convenience!
Small bedroom
This consists of a single bed sofa with a good quality mattress. There is also a hanging section for your clothes and a well-stocked bookcase. A baby bed can be placed here.
Garden
The large private Mediterranean garden with terrace is equipped with a parasol, table and comfortable chairs. Both at the front and side of the house there is a terrace and a parking space. In the winter months there are sun loungers to enjoy the sun!
Shared garden
The shared tropical Mediterranean garden mainly features plants from the Algarve such as yuccas, cacti and succulents. But palms, cypresses and fruit trees are also present. Here you will also find the large gas barbecue where you can barbecue to your heart's content.
Shared pool
Finally, the saltwater pool of 10 by 4 meters. Large enough to swim a few laps or relax wonderfully on the bench in the water with a glass. Sun loungers are ready for you under the palms with a view of the Atlantic coast. Let the holiday begin!
Overwintering
Of our two suites, only Casa Pauline can be booked for overwintering (>28 days) the overwintering rate from November to March is possible We have blocked this period in our booking system, which is why it is not possible to book Casa Pauline for short stays. You can book Casa Florine for short stays (>3 nights) in the winter.

Tourist tax
- From May to October, for a maximum of 5 nights, you pay two euros per person per night.
- From November to April, for a maximum of 5 nights, you pay one euro per person per night.
- Children under 16 are not subject to the tax.
Extra charge**
It is possible to check in earlier (usually after 4:00 p.m.) and check out later (usually before 10:00 a.m.) upon request and by arrangement.
We block these extra hours for you and you can book them to enjoy your stay longer. Make sure to do this in time.
Rates are 50% of the nightly rate for check-ins after 1:00 PM and 100% of the nightly rate for check-ins before 1:00 PM.
Rates for longer stays include departure until 3:00 p.m., 50% night rate, and departure after 3:00 p.m., 100%
Caution: due to our tight booking schedule, the above is only possible well in advance of arrival and with a written confirmation from us to prevent double bookings!
